If a parent requests, TK will administer prescription medication that has the child’s name and doctors dosage and frequency instructions typed on it. It is important that the parent inform TK staff of the time the last dose was given.
“As needed” prescription medications, or over the counter remedies will be used sparingly and given only with parental consent and instruction.
Nebulizer machines (breathing machines, usually used by asthmatics) may be used if the parent provides the nebulizer, the medication, training and instructions. The parent also needs to sign the “nebulizer release form”.
Epinephrine pens (Epi-pen) also requires that the TK staff be trained by the parent or other qualified person, and a release form will need to be signed.
