TK is a Head Start Provider
As of September 8, 2009, TK has become a Head Start Preschool Provider. This means that in addition to my private-pay clients, TK and Head Start have entered into a contractual relationship, to be reevaluated and renewed yearly, to provide services to full time working or student families that meet the Head Start income guidelines.
Head Start is a federally funded national program that began in 1965. Head Start has provided health, nutritional and educational benefits to over a million children of low income families nationwide during the 2006-2007 program year alone!
It has been statistically proven that Head Start is an investment in the future of our children, and our nation.

Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Head Start
Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Head Start is the East San Diego County branch of Head Start. AKA provides services to 960 children in part-day, full day, Homebased and Family Childcare programs. The AKA Family Childcare program, established in 1996 to provide additional care to full time working parents that the centers could not accommodate, started out with funding for 40 children, now they have funding for 81!
As a Head Start Preschool Provider, TK tuition fees are paid in full for the children, ages 3-5 years old, whose family meet the Head Start income guidelines. If you have any questions, or if you feel your family might qualify for Head Start benefits, please contact

I am excited about my new affiliation with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Head Start. Every person I have met from this organization has been encouraging and helpful, and AKA is full of resources for the Head Start Children, TK and myself. AKA also offers continuing education opportunities - classes and workshops - for myself and TK staff, to help keep TK state-of-the-art. I will also be attending monthly meetings for fellow Head Start providers and, as part of the Head Start FCC program, I will receive regular visits from a “mentor” teacher.
Here is an organization who truly seems devoted to the success of the children!
Note: The TK Education, services, and curriculum provided for Head Start children and Private Pay children is identical.
There is no discrimination at TK against any child for any reason.
